A firm built to capitalize on turning points.
Named for the pivotal Battles of Saratoga, where victory in the War of the American Revolution turned the corner from “possible” to “likely,” Saratoga is your trusted partner when you need capital resources to pivot toward new opportunity.
Values Shape Every Aspect of Saratoga
Saratoga’s solutions originate and develop through a set of basic business principles which inform and govern our actions.
Adherence to these principles produces a uniformity and consistency of effort among sometimes disparate business disciplines.
Continued adherence to these principles ensures that we will maximize our value to our clients and investors.
These are our Ten Guiding Principles that shape what we do, and how we do it.
Guiding Principles
What we do
I. Professionalism
Our most important product is our Professionalism. In all our activities, sound judgment and the requisite analytical skills must be applied consistently and creatively on behalf of our clients and investors.
II. Focus
Focus must be sharply directed toward what we do best, which is providing high value-added capital solutions employing insight combined with capital resources. We will not do what we cannot do well.
III. Discipline
Discipline over how and with whom we do business, how we run our business, and how we make decisions is a guiding principle for us to both “do the right thing” and to “do things right.” Disciplined approaches reduce uncertainty and volatility, resulting in consistently higher quality and more predictable outcomes.
IV. Scale
Scale combined with expertise sets us apart from our competition. Our relatively small size means we are able to direct our best talent toward solving our clients’ problems rather than dealing with the complexities of a large organization. It means we can respond quickly, nimbly, and flexibly to problems and opportunities, while at the same time providing a full range of solutions. It also assures an optimal environment for our professionals.
V. Profitability
Profitability is the key to our sustainability as it is an essential ingredient in attracting and keeping the best people. Yet profitability must develop as a by-product of the successful conduct of our duties and obligations to serve and support our clients and investors.
How We Do What We Do
VI. Integrity
Integrity is the foundation of our business. We believe in long-term relationships and so must constantly strive to display the impeccable integrity and pristine ethics that will earn us credibility with every stakeholder at all times – internal and external. Our reputation comes first.
VII. Commitment
Commitment to our investors, clients, and our people is paramount. Our investors and clients expect our devotion to fulfilling their needs and expectations. At Saratoga, we have high expectations for our people, especially dedication, hard work, and exceptionally high standards of performance and conduct. Colleagues have a right to expect us to provide a stable environment and the opportunity to fulfill their need for growth and development toward their professional ambitions.
VIII. Collaboration
Collaboration among Saratoga and its stakeholders, external and internal, is paramount to the success we seek to achieve. Relationships with external partners rely on long-term teamwork; just as much as our internal team collaboration results in the best thinking and actions being applied to our work.
IX. Passion
Passion for what we do, how, with whom, for whom, and why drives a sense of urgency, speed, agility, joy, fun, and meaning. We strive to work with people we respect and who challenge us to learn and grow every day. We enjoy and are proud of each other. In a broad sense, we see ourselves as one key contributor to the capital markets, working with clients and for investors that make the US economy the strongest and most innovative in the world.
X. Decency
Decency in all our dealings with clients, investors, colleagues, and others is the bedrock upon which Saratoga is built. It is the standard against which we measure everything we do.
Saratoga Partners is led by a team of experienced investment professionals with deep expertise across private credit, private equity, and structured capital. Our professionals bring backgrounds spanning investment management, operating leadership, and advisory roles, enabling us to evaluate opportunities through both a financial and operational lens.
We work collaboratively across sectors and strategies, combining rigorous analysis with thoughtful judgment. This approach allows us to partner closely with management teams, structure capital solutions with precision, and remain aligned with long-term value creation.
At Saratoga, our people are our greatest asset. We believe strong relationships, disciplined decision-making, and intellectual integrity are essential to delivering consistent outcomes for our partners and investors.
